Remember those school lectures about various theories of Einstein…?
Many of us didn’t even major in Science, let alone become Einstein. However, after 30 years of climbing the corporate ladder having worked with the best in the business, I never knew we could draw strong parallels from his theories and the processes in the corporate arena. Thanks to the practices and learnings of Consciouspreneur, I have been able to apply strategic management theories to practical corporate culture scenarios and how! Don’t worry, this blog is not going to be ‘rocket science’ for you to understand. Let’s orbit around some of Einstein’s laws to understand how we can apply it in Strategic management.
Time is relative, be it in Cosmic space or the Corporate workspace
Strategic management applies not just in the universe but in the lifecycle of companies. The companies that evolve ahead of strategic plans are the ones that will survive and go the distance rather than the ones who think of time as absolute. The best companies propel with time rather than against time. Look at Nokia for example, which from being an industry leader with a market share of 51% was relegated to a nobody by the smartphone giants of today, Apple and Samsung. Had they evolved with strategic plans and launched a rocket of innovation, rather than just floating in the mobile phone space, they would have had the first mover advantage today. IBM is another shining example that comes to my mind. From being a hardcore hardware manufacturer, they quickly realised that they would need to do a course correction and make a safe landing with advanced software and IT services and today, they are one of the leaders in the space. If they had not adapted according to the time, they would have dissipated into time infinity.
The curvature of Space and the Corporate arena
We all have learnt that Einstein’s theories are based on the curvature of space, which is also reflected in the corporate universe as the market terrain. This curvature bends on the dynamics of industry nuances, cultural trends, and global tastes – and this charts a course that aligns with this multidimensional landscape.
Tesla’s corporate path reflects the space curvature theory proposed by Einstein. The market landscape is pliable, much like space, in response to changes in global dynamics, and trends. The trajectory of electric cars (EVs) against combustion engines was curved by Tesla, defying conventions. With its svelte design and direct sales, it upset cultural conventions and established itself as a global leader in the automotive industry that was tech-driven. Tesla has succeeded by integrating sustainability, upending conventional distribution, bending linear business landscapes, and making technology central. Adapt to influences, innovating, and having a global vision for a multifaceted corporate future are some of the lessons that Tesla can impart.
The Gravity of Innovation can result in Corporate Transformation
Gravity plays a very important part in the ingredient of cosmic time and space. Life on earth is simply not possible without gravity, similarly without the gravity of innovation, the universe of your corporate processes will cease to exist. Probably like a Big Bang! Just like gravity can bend space and time, the gravity of innovation has the power to bend the growth curve in your organisation and help it reach new heights with never-before models and opportunities. If I take the example of movies, I am a ‘fan’ of Netflix and how it completely changed the rules of the game in the OTT and entertainment industry. They foresaw that streaming was going to be the next big thing and moved to an online platform rather than the traditional model of distributing and renting movies by the market leader – Blockbuster. And look where the two stand today. One went bankrupt while the other is valued at 200+ billion dollars, and you know which one I am talking about.
What has gravity got to do with a Consciouspreneur?
Everything! Consciouspreneur is not a fad word nor is it some hashtag trend you follow on Instagram. It is my lifelong journey of 30 years that I have experienced and gained knowledge over time. Just like I have connected Einstein’s theories to corporate culture, there is a major connection between your internal universe and how it connects with your external and cosmic universe. A Consciouspreneur sees time as a fourth dimension in a so-called 3D world. A Consciouspreneur believes in the fuel of science energizing the ‘rocket’ of spirituality rather than the two being separate satellites in life. A Consciouspreneur even sees the phenomena of Karma as a scientific phenomenon and not a philosophy. How’s that even possible?
